The
Contributors
Meet the editors and indie enthusiasts driving the Soft Grain vision from our Friedrichstraße studio.
We play longer so you can decide better.
Founded by Lukas Weber, Soft Grain emerged from a single observation: the most transformative works in gaming are often the quietest. We reject the high-speed turnover of commercial news cycles in favor of deep, longitudinal play sessions.
Our team stays independent of publisher-driven cycles. We follow a strict "one-week-late" policy, intentionally avoiding day-one hype to evaluate a title as a permanent cultural object rather than a temporary product. Every review represents a minimum of 40 hours of immersion.
The Lead Archivists
Our editors represent different mechanical specializations, ensuring every "hidden gem" is analyzed through the right lens.
Lukas Weber
Focuses on mechanical depth. After a decade in traditional gaming journalism, Lukas founded Soft Grain to prioritize titles that favor innovation over spectacle.
Sarah Jenkins
Sarah hunts for physics-based puzzles and minimalist logic systems. Her reviews dissect the tactile feel of game worlds and how logic dictates narrative flow.
Marc Hoffmann
Our boots-on-the-ground in the German indie dev scene. Marc spends his time at local meetups and university showcases identifying early-stage talent.
Extended
Network
Beyond our core staff, we collaborate with a global network of specialized testers who verify technical stability and accessibility standards.
Elena Rossi
Narrative Archeologist. Elena focuses on environmental storytelling and non-verbal narrative delivery in titles that refuse to explain themselves.
Technical Archeology Unit
Our collective of hardware testers who ensure every "grainy" title runs flawlessly on standard rigs. If it doesn't hold 60fps, it doesn't enter the archive.
